Green Bay High School
New Administration Block
The very busy executive team of Green Bay High School sat down with Furnware to discuss their dream for the new administration block. The under taking of a huge new building project combined with the disruption this was going to cause, was frazzling enough for staff. Ongoing day to day tasks, their continued curriculum focus let alone the thought of choosing furniture and fabrics meant the school needed a partner with considerable experience to work with. Furnware was able to reassure the team that North Shore Account Manager Kerry Leonard-Rogers would work closely with them to provide what they wanted - a total design solution to the job.
Brief
The group decided they wanted to bring elements of Green Bay, Waitakere and the West Coast and introduce them into the look and feel of the schools administration area. This would give an elegant and corporate look without focusing too much on what one would assume to expect .. Green!
Solution
Charcoal painted doors and a warm sandy fleck in the carpet provided the inspiration for elements of the charcoal sands of the west coast and the yellow colours found in Toi Toi. Even existing art work and paintings tied in beautifully and were given a fresh showcasing. Careful attention to detail was important and as one walks through the building subtle twists on the colour scheme can be noted giving cohesiveness yet individuality. The process was consultative throughout, Kerry worked with staff from the outset to ascertain how they liked to work in their spaces and then what furniture would provide the best solution for each.Several colour boards were provided so that staff could visualise the finished result. Over the course of a year as new wings of the building have been completed the partnership between the school and Furnware continued to be a positive and enjoyable one.
